Lamy Birdsong Whistles are refined wind instruments that have been created for the express purpose of the mimicry of songbirds. These full-spectrum, high-frequency instruments come in a variety of sizes and configurations in order to faithfully render thousands songs and calls of specific bird-sound categories.
Invented and conceived by Andrew Lamy, each whistle specially hand-crafted by a master whistle-maker. Whistles come with instructions and ear-training pointers for optimal use, and each is carefully voiced to create dulcet sounds that project well, but do not break the ears!
- LAMY WARBLER WHISTLE --TM Frequency Range: ca. 2kHz-7kHz + 10kHz overtone.
This instrument can imitate thousands of "pure or buzzy" songs and calls of the "high pitchers" from every continent with uncanny accuracy. It comes with a built-in kHz scale, frequency guides, and instructions for the imitation of several familiar species to acquaint the user with a variety of techniques. For adults and kids ages 8 and above.
Example species: Connecticut Warbler, Painted Redstart, Virginia's Warbler, Black-throated Green Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Field Sparrow, Carolina Wren, Winter Wren, Grasshopper Warbler, Chiff-chaff, Scarlet-spectacled Wattle-eye.
- THRUSH PIPES --TM Frequency Range: ca. 1kHz-4kHz
This double whistle can harmonize with itself like the Turdus and Catharus thrushes, and is meticulously tuned to play intervals typical of Wood Thrush, Veery, and European Blackbird. Small tone holes permit the player to recreate the hauntingly beautiful quantum leaps of these magical songs. For adults and kids ages 8 and above.
Example species: Wood Thrush, Varied Thrush, Townsend's Solitaire, Gray Catbird, Veery, Hermit Thrush. - BOBOLINK WHISTLE --TM Frequency Range: ca. 2kHz-7.5kHz + 10kHz overtone.
This double whistle with independent frequency controls to simulate the miraculous "double voice box" of many songbirds such as Bobolink, Gnatcatcher, mimids, finches, and thrushes. It can also imitate thousands of "pure or buzzy" songs and calls of the "high pitchers" from every continent with uncanny accuracy.

This rich whistle mimicsof "pure or buzzy" songs and calls of the "avian mezzo-sopranos" such as Baltimore Oriole, Scarlet Tanager, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Like the Lamy Warbler Whistle, it comes with a built-in kHz scale, frequency guides, and instructions for the imitation of several familiar species to acquaint the user with a variety of techniques, including warbling, buzzing, trilling, and multi-directional slurs. This whistle has a huge dynamic range; it can both whisper and scream in the upper partials. Not recommended for kids.

The emphatic vocalizations of this group of non-songbirds feature the "Soo-lee" sound of a fundamental cracking into overtones, a technique known as "bugling" (from bugle). For adults and kids ages 8 and above.
Example Species: Dunlin, Lesser Golden Plover, Greater Yellowlegs, Long-billed Dowitcher, Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk (juvenile), Lesser Chanting-Goshawk. - ENGLISH BONE WHISTLE --TM Frequency Range: ca. 1kHz-6kHz
The world's first high-pitch whistle that can be tuned to be diatonic, chromatic, or microtonal, all without finger-crowding or a key system. Name derives from a notorious mistranslation of "Angled Trombone Whistle" from French. For adults and kids ages 8 and above.
Examples: Carolina Wren, Carolina Chickadee, Barnum & Bailey's Favorite (Thunder & Blazes) - "IRISH PICCOLO" DESCANT WHISTLE IN D OR Eb --TM Frequency Range: ca. 0.75kHz-3khz (recommended)--higher is possible as on tinwhistle, but only at edgy dynamics.
The first tinwhistle (though made of brass) to play sweetly in the high and sopranino registers. This dulcet whistle is amazing for jigs & reels, and hauntingly gorgeous for slow airs and song accompaniments. Not recommended for kids.
